Looking across to the country of Burma Only access to the villages was down paths like this with no roads at all.
One of the villages on day 2 where we picked up the elephants. Spent the whole afternoon riding elephants to the next village. I spent about an hour riding its neck like a mahout and Lisa about half that.
Local kids put on a traditional dance for us. The village also made us bamboo rafts that we used for a half day trip down the river to the end of our 3 day trek.
Not sure what cabbages and condoms have to do with each other at this road side stop we used? This was our private boat for our trip up the Mekong River. We are standing in Laos and Thailand is on the other bank.
